Our History
Our team of highly trained nurses have a special ability to think outside the square and problem solve to achieve better health solutions for each individual.
HNS was born out of passion to deliver a holistic model, to bring unique consultative services for people living with disability and rehabilitation needs. Its’ mission: to provide client centred care by empowering the person and their team to prevent complications and maintain their health and wellbeing within their local community.
HNS are a private community nursing service. We work together with you, your family, and your carers to provide a gold standard of care. We believe that quality of life should not be compromised for you, or for your loved ones. Our carefully selected team of passionate professionals work hard to deliver excellent care with each person at the centre, we provide support to maintain functional independence and wellbeing.

Our Founder and Visionary, Amy Darvall
Amy Darvall is one of Australia’s leading community nurses within the disability and rehabilitation sector. A Clinical Nurse Consultant who holds a masters degree in Wound Care and is the Founder and Non-Executive Director of Care Connector Pty Ltd, incorporating Holistic Nursing Solutions (HNS) and Holistic Care Solutions (HCS).
Since 2005 Amy has been nursing and specialising in wound care and sub specialty catastrophic injuries within the acute and community sectors. She is a passionate advocate for wound management solutions, holistic nursing assessments, community inclusion with continence management, education and training solutions within regional, rural and remote sectors. Amy is an approved case manager for LTCS, NSW and an approved service provider for the NDIS.
Amy is an active member and recently stepped down from the education portfolio for Wounds Australia (previously known as AWMA) to focus on her business. She has been an AWMA committee member in both NSW, QLD and convened the 2012 National AWMA conference in Sydney. She has given clinical presentations both nationally, internationally and recently participated in the guideline development of the 2014 International Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers: Clinical Practice Guidelines. Amy is also a member of the QLD Urological Nurses Society and one of few approved peristeen anal irrigation training educators within Australia.
Our CEO, Kim Sutton
Kim has held senior management roles in organisations focused on community and health care in both Australia and the UK since 2001. She has successfully developed a number of teams and services, all with a focus on delivering improved impact.
She brings to our team a huge passion for helping people face and overcome their challenges to achieve their goals. She has previously held CEO and Director level roles at Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, Life Flight, Foundation for Social Improvement and West Arnhem Regional Council.
FUN FACT: Kim loves to explore new places – a passion that sees her visiting one new place every weekend! She is also a professional photographer and yoga teacher.
